Located on the Southernmost point in the
United States, Key West is a tropical paradise. Key West has long
attracted gay and lesbian artists, including Truman Capote and Tennessee
Williams who made Key West their winter retreats. Most of the gay
and lesbian activities are found in Old Town along the eastern end
of Duval Street. Gay/lesbian bars, shops, restaurants are situated
there. Guest houses have their own pool, and some have jacuzzis.
The gay beach is located near the Zachary Taylor Fort and is affectionately
dubbed the Elizabeth Taylor beach by local gays. Enjoy a day cruise
on a lesbian sailboat or join a group lesson in snorkeling and scuba
diving for gay men.
